This Rangefinder Doesn’t Disappoint!
My initial impressions while opening up the box were definitely impressive for the price point. The packaging is good quality especially if you were looking to give this as a gift. Inside you’ll find everything you need to start ranging. There is a small lens cloth, instructions, a zippered hard case containing the rangefinder, lanyard attachment, metal carabiner, usb-c charging cable, and a metal belt clip for the magnetic spot on the rangefinder. I think the magnetic strip is probably my favorite detail because it’s really handy to just attach to a golf cart roll bar or use the belt clip. The zippered case will be plenty protective while being stored in my golf bag. I ended up putting the instructions inside the zippered case so I can refer back to them quickly if I ever need to. The rubber and plastic body of the rangefinder feel like quality and the color scheme is fitting for golf. I have a rangefinder for bow hunting that uses a special non rechargeable battery so I am looking forward to just being able to plug this in and not remove the battery when not in use.

As for the performance and accuracy of the rangefinder, here is what I found in my use (haven’t been out to the range or course so I can’t comment on long distance yet).
– Ranging speed is pretty much instantaneous and the screen readout is clear. Any blurriness in the lens, all you have to do is twist the lens like a normal binocular
– Flagpole lock works well, the vibration is nice confirmation of your target
– Distances were very accurate, within +1/-1 yard. During some testing I was able to accurately range within .2 feet (verified by tape measure)

Overall I would definitely recommend this rangefinder. It comes in at a great price point whether it be for a gift or personal use. The magnetic strip and belt clip set it apart from others. I can’t wait for my golf league to start using it on a regular basis. It will definitely be a staple in my golf bag.

Was quite happy with the price point and quality
I have had cheaper rangefinders and they just really have been poor quality. For the price of this vs the namebrand high end, this did a really good job. Very Fast, Accurate and the magnet for the card it absolutely awesome and really strong. No worries of it flying off with normal cart driving even over decent bumps. I’d definitely recommend this one.

Fast, accurate, relatively inexpensive upgrade for 5 year old laser.
My five year old laser got rained on and died. This review is based on one round with the Redtiger. Summary, for $110 it’s a steal.

The first pin I shot I thought there was something wrong because it instantly locked onto the pin. By habit I took several shots just to make sure I was actually getting the pin and not a tree or something. It might not sound like much, but once I experienced it, I wouldn’t go back to the old laser for free.

As far as accuracy, from where I hit the ball to the pin, the Redtiger and my GPS “measure shot distance” agreed +/- 1 yard. The Redtiger also measures the slope to give an “actual” distance. Since I’m an “anywhere on the green is good” golfer the +/- 2 yards mostly didn’t matter. But on a particularly elevated par 3 the straight line was 170, actual 150 and that changed my club selection. Of course I still missed the green, the laser won’t correct a slice.

Other positives:
–Charging is by USB C, not that stupid micro-USB connector.
–There’s a built in magnet holds which tight to cart, no more chucking the laser into a cart cubby.
–The white body gives a fighting chance that you won’t leave it behind at the end of the round.

Two minor negatives:
–The Redtiger has several modes and the mode button is fairly close to the measure button. I’ll get used to it but a couple of times I found myself reading meters or even speed.
–The carry case is sturdy but, unlike the body, it’s jet black and it does disappear into the cart cubby.

Obviously I can’t comment on durability or how long the battery lasts. I also hope to avoid finding out how water resistant it is. In summary, five years ago I bought Precision Pro laser, without slope for $190. If it hadn’t gotten wet I would still be using it, but it turns out this $110 laser is an upgrade in every way.

Doesn’t easily lock in on target
Didn’t cost much so not complaining but this doesn’t lock onto the flag very well. Yardages aren’t accurate if the battery is low either. Seems durable but haven’t dropped it yet. A little difficult to get a complete view unless your eye is pressed perfectly against the viewfinder.

Terrible product.
This product is basically unusable. I previously had a bushnell rangefinder that locked on to the flagstick and provided accurate, steady range information that I was confident was the distance to the flagstick-not a background bush, tree or hill.
The Red Tiger rangefinder does none of this. When “shooting” a flagstick, the distance does not lock on and varies 5 yards or more second-by-second if you are lucky enough to just be getting distance to the flagstick. Usually the distance bounces back and forth between a background bush, tree or hill and the flagstick. Often, you will just get the distance to the background and find it very difficult to get a distance to the flagstick..
It is virtually impossible to hold the rangefinder steady enough to get the kind of accurate, steady range info I was used to.
I thought I could save a few bucks. Boy, I was wrong!
